A FEW FRIENDLY REQUIREMENTS

Give your telescope a clear view of the sky
Choose a location with as much open sky as possible. Fewer trees, rooftops, and nearby obstructions will give your telescope a better view and improve observing conditions.

Darker skies are better
Artificial light can make faint objects harder to observe. You don’t need a remote observatory, but reducing nearby light will help you get more from your telescope and improve the quality of your observations.

Set up on stable ground
Place your telescope on a solid, steady surface where vibration and movement are minimized.

Reliable power and internet
SkyBridge connects your telescope to the SkyMapper network, so reliable Wi-Fi and access to power are important for network participation.

Bring a curious, collaborative spirit
SkyKeepers are active participants in the network. Be ready to explore, contribute observations, make your telescope available for shared observing, and take part in coordinated observing opportunities.
